Endometriosis
Did you know that close to 1 million girls, women and those assigned female at birth have Endometriosis in Australia?
It occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus (endometrium) grows in other parts of the body. Endometriosis primarily affects the reproductive organs but can also be found in areas surrounding the bowel and bladder, as well as in the skin, joints, lungs and even the brain.
It’s extremely common for people with endometriosis to experience pelvic pain, inflammation, bloating, constipation and/or diarrhoea with certain foods and dietary practices potentially compounding these symptoms further.
How a TDC dietitian can help you manage endometriosis:
Curate a food plan that incorporates anti-inflammatory foods to mitigate the inflammation associated with endometriosis.
Identify dietary triggers and suggest alternatives to help you manage bloating, constipation and/or diarrhoea.
If symptoms worsen throughout your menstrual cycle, we can periodised and tailor advice that’s specific to you and your flare presentation.
As endometriosis can impact fertility, we can help you to devise a plan that features key nutrients to support your reproductive health.
